Job Description
Hemphill Contracting LLC is hiring a Production Utility Operator to support underground utility and construction operations. This role is ideal for a dependable, hands-on worker who can operate equipment, assist crews, and keep production moving efficiently and safely.
Responsibilities
- Operate construction and utility equipment as assigned (mini excavators, skid steers, compact equipment, etc.)
- Assist with underground utility installation and repair
- Support HDD, trenching, and excavation crews
- Load, unload, and transport materials and tools
- Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance
- Maintain job site cleanliness and organization
- Follow OSHA and company safety policies at all times
Requirements
- Construction or utility experience preferred
- Ability to safely operate or learn to operate construction equipment
- Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physical labor
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in underground utilities (water, sewer, electric, fiber)
- Equipment operation experience
- HDD or locating experience
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification (a plus)
