Business Operations Manager
Hemp Well – Auburn Hills, MI (On-site)
Salary: $60,000–$70,000 per year performance-based bonus
About Us
Hemp Well is a small, Michigan-based pet wellness company making hemp seed–based supplements and natural products for dogs, cats, birds and other animals. We sell through major retailers and online channels, and we’re a small, hands-on, entrepreneurial team.
Role
We’re looking for a Business Operations Manager to run day-to-day operations from our Auburn Hills office. You’ll handle inventory, fulfillment, vendor coordination, light bookkeeping, and general “make it run” responsibilities to keep our business and retail relationships running smoothly.
What You’ll Do
- Oversee daily operations and order flow (ERP, Amazon, Walmart, wholesale)
- Coordinate with warehouses/3PLs, suppliers, and co-packers
- Monitor inventory levels; create and track purchase orders
- Support retail partners with product, shipping, and order questions
- Pull basic reports (sales, inventory, costs) using spreadsheets
- Assist with bookkeeping: match invoices/POs, track bills, help reconcile accounts
- Improve and document simple processes and SOPs
- Support special projects (new products, retailer onboarding, packaging updates)
What We’re Looking For
- 3 years in operations, supply chain, logistics, or office management (small business or e-commerce a plus)
- Comfortable in a hands-on role wearing many hats
- Strong organization and attention to detail
- Proficient with Excel/Google Sheets and basic business software
- Experience with Shopify, Amazon Seller Central, Walmart Marketplace or similar is a plus
- QuickBooks experience and basic accounting/bookkeeping background strongly preferred
- Experience with inventory or shipping/3PLs is a plus
- College degree strongly preferred
- Clear communicator and self-starter
- Pet lover and interest in natural/wellness products is a bonus
