Required Qualifications:
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certification
- Meet the definition of Highly Qualified Teacher per federal regulations
- Meet requirements for a background check and fingerprinting
Job Requirements, Knowledge, and Skills:
- Successful experience working with elementary students ranging K-5.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of content expectations/standards pertinent to the grade level
- Knowledge of best practices in classroom instruction and technology integration
- Experience working as part of a collaborative team
A successful candidate will be able to:
- Build strong relationships with students and deliver instruction using research-based strategies across whole-group, small-group, and individualized settings.
- Plan and implement high-quality lessons that align with state standards and integrate best practices such as explicit instruction, checks for understanding, and differentiated supports to promote achievement in all core content areas.
- Use a variety of formative and summative assessment tools to monitor student progress, inform instructional decisions, and provide timely, targeted feedback.
- Establish a structured, respectful classroom environment by consistently applying proactive classroom management techniques, restorative practices, and positive behavior supports.
- Actively engage in professional learning communities to analyze student data, co-plan lessons, and reflect on instructional practices.
- Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and families to foster a culture of academic excellence and a positive school climate.
Salary: As per negotiated district contract.
