Greeter/Host – Job Summary
At Hemingway's Tavern, our Greeters/Hosts are the first smile our Guests see and the last friendly face they remember. If you enjoy meeting new people, staying organized, and creating a welcoming atmosphere, this is the perfect opportunity to join our team.
As a Greeter/Host, you'll play an important role in ensuring every guest has an exceptional dining experience by providing warm hospitality from the moment they arrive until they head home. No experience? No problem! We'll provide the training you need to succeed.
What You'll Do
- Welcome every Guest with a warm, friendly greeting and a genuine smile
- Manage the waitlist and communicate accurate wait times
- Escort Guests to clean, prepared tables as quickly as possible
- Thank Guests for dining with us and invite them to return
- Refill beverages and assist Guests as needed
- Develop a basic knowledge of our menu to answer Guest questions
- Clean and reset tables to maintain efficient seating
- Support fellow team members to help ensure smooth restaurant operations
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming dining room
What We're Looking For
- Friendly, outgoing, and enthusiastic personality
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to stay organized and multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented
- Willingness to learn and help wherever needed
- Restaurant experience is a plus, but not required—we're happy to train the right candidate!
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for up to 8-hour shifts
- Ability to move throughout the restaurant efficiently during busy service periods
- Ability to assist with light lifting and carrying as needed
