What are the responsibilities and job description for the Registered Nurse (RN) position at Hematology & Oncology Consultants, PC?
Our oncology practice is actively seeking a Registered Nurse to work full-time in our infusion area. This RN needs to demonstrate previous experience in an infusion setting and the ability to work in a busy environment. This position offers the opportunity to work with patients and a team of nurses, physicians and non-physician providers to care for oncology/hematology patients.
This position is a 5 day/38 hour per week position.
- Monday through Thursday – 8:00am-4:30pm, Friday – 8:00am-3:00pm
- No weekends or holidays

- Infusion/IV experience needed
Working with patients and families to provide patient care and education in the infusion area. Starting peripheral IV’s and accessing ports. Administering chemotherapy/immunotherapy (will train). Working with physicians and other staff members to coordinate appointments. The typical day consists of reviewing patient orders in our EMR and prepping IV’s and premeds upon arrival then greeting and assessing patients in the infusion area and starting their IV’s and administering pre-medications, chemotherapy and immunotherapy. Charting medication administration times and reviewing documentation in the EMR. The ideal candidate is motivated, self-directed, compassionate, enthusiastic, and committed to patient centered care.
