PRN Overnight Shelter Relief Staff

Helpmate, a domestic violence victim service agency in Asheville, NC, is seeking PRN OVERNIGHT relief shelter staff to cover shifts as needed during evenings, overnights and weekends. Key responsibilities include: maintaining facility coverage of shelter during the shift, supporting adult and child survivors of domestic violence living in emergency shelter, supporting survivors on crisis hotline calls, interacting with law enforcement and other allied professionals, monitoring safety and security protocols. Comprehensive training provided. Preferred candidates will have experience in social work or related field, an understanding of domestic violence, strong communication skills, and ability to make independent decisions within a framework of policies and procedures. Pay incentives available for fluency in Spanish, Moldovan, ASL, Russian or Ukrainian, as well as relevant experience in the field, and overnight coverage.
