Requirements:
- One to three years in the healthcare field, or some education in healthcare
- Comprehensive training for autistic adults, dementia, and alzheimer's disease
- Familiarity with home care or nursing home environments
- Previous experience in caregiving or a related field is preferred
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks as needed
- Knowledge of resident rights and the ability to advocate for clients
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions from healthcare professionals
- Compassionate and patient demeanor
Responsibilities:
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Administer medications as prescribed by healthcare professionals
- Assist with meal planning and preparation
- Perform light housekeeping tasks such as laundry and tidying up
- Accompany clients to medical appointments and social outings
- Monitor and report any changes in client's condition to the appropriate healthcare professionals
- Ensure client safety and well-being at all times
