Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated In Home Caregiver to provide essential support to individuals in the comfort of their own homes. The ideal candidate will assist clients with daily living activities, ensuring their safety and well-being while promoting independence. This role requires a patient and empathetic approach, as caregivers will work closely with clients who may have varying levels of physical and cognitive needs.
Duties
- Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Assist with mobility and transfers to ensure client safety.
- Support clients with meal preparation and nutritional needs.
- Administer medications as prescribed and monitor client health conditions.
- Offer companionship and engage clients in social activities to enhance their quality of life.
- Document care provided and report any changes in client condition to family members or healthcare professionals.
- Uphold resident rights by respecting privacy and promoting dignity in all interactions.
- Implement memory care techniques for clients experiencing cognitive decline or memory loss.
- Provide hospice care support for clients with terminal illnesses, ensuring comfort and compassion during end-of-life care.
Skills
- Strong background in caregiving or patient care, with experience in memory care or hospice care preferred.
- Knowledge of medication administration protocols and ability to manage medication schedules effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and their families.
- Ability to perform CPR and respond appropriately in emergency situations.
- Understanding of resident rights and commitment to advocating for client dignity and respect.
- Basic knowledge of social work principles as they relate to caregiving is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently while providing high-quality care.
