Schedule is Fridays 11am-6pm only

HHHS is seeking an applicant with exceptional customer service & computer skills. The Admissions Aid helps with the admission of all animals into HHHS. The position is responsible for vaccinating, weighing and aging all animals who enter the shelter. The position is also required to record and maintain accurate information including medical treatment records, lost/found reports, and basic animal information.

Major Duties:
Oversee the admission of all animals to shelter; obtain and record necessary information from customer, vaccinate, weigh and age animal; input animal information into software and produce identification card for each animal.
Perform a lost/found service for community: accurately record lost/found reports; check all incoming animals for identification including microchips; compare all incoming animals with lost/found reports. Microchip animals for Return-to-Owners and Adoptions
Communicate any concerns or changes in animal behavior or health in a timely manner to coworkers, supervisors or other departments
Provide exceptional customer service when interacting with the public; resolve customer issues and concerns; refer unresolved grievances to Admissions Manager
Gain and maintain a thorough knowledge of shelter software
Clean Admissions department using appropriate tools and chemicals in a manner that reflects HHHS’ commitment to a healthy environment
Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the organization's discretion

Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED
Valid driver’s license
Basic computer skills
Experience working in a customer service environment
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
Ability to interact with impounded dogs, cats and other animals including vicious, stray, sick or injured animals.
Ability to handle seeing and dealing with animals that have been abused, neglected or treated cruelly.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing with staff, the business community, business prospects and the public.
Ability to work efficiently with attention to details and quality of work produced.
Ability to exercise good judgment in setting priorities and organization of work load.
Willingness to lead, take charge and offer opinions and direction.

Physical Demands:
Ability to stand, walk, sit, talk and hear, stoop, bend, squat, kneel, etc.
Ability to push or pull supplies up to 25lbs.
Ability to read computer screens and mail, talk on phone.

Work Environment:
Professional and deadline-oriented environment in an office setting.
Interaction with staff and customers.
Potential exposure to parasites and infectious diseases that may be carried and transmitted by animals.

Pay: $11.00 per hour
