Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Therapist to join our dynamic healthcare team. Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough clinical assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems to determine appropriate treatment plans.
  • Deliver individual, group, and family counseling sessions using therapeutic modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and applied behavior analysis (ABA).
  • Implement crisis intervention strategies to manage urgent mental health situations effectively while ensuring patient safety.
  • Facilitate intake processes for new clients, gathering comprehensive medical and psychological histories while maintaining HIPAA compliance for confidentiality.
  • Develop personalized treatment plans that incorporate evidence-based practices including motivational interviewing, behavioral management, addiction counseling, grief counseling, PTSD care, and gender issues counseling.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care, including case management and medical documentation within inpatient or outpatient settings.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of patient progress using medical terminology and CPT coding standards; ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Engage in clinical research or data collection initiatives to enhance treatment outcomes and contribute to ongoing mental health studies.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or higher in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Valid licensure or certification as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or equivalent credential.
  • Proven experience working with children, adolescents, adults, or geriatrics in outpatient or inpatient settings; hospital experience is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of behavioral health modalities including psychotherapeutic techniques like psychodynamic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), behavioral therapy, and psychopharmacology principles.
  • Proficiency with ICD coding systems (ICD-9/ICD-10) for diagnostic evaluation and billing purposes.
  • Experience delivering telehealth services with familiarity in telehealth platforms and remote patient engagement tools.
  • Ability to handle crisis situations effectively through crisis management skills and crisis intervention protocols.
  • Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient-centered care; ability to work with individuals with disabilities or developmental disorders such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and experience maintaining HIPAA-compliant records; familiarity with CPT coding for billing procedures.
