Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Infant Teacher Assistant to support classroom teachers and enhance the learning experience for young children. The ideal candidate will assist with daily activities, promote a positive learning environment, and provide individualized support to students. This role is essential in fostering early childhood development and ensuring a safe, engaging, and nurturing classroom setting.
Duties
- Assist lead teachers with lesson planning and classroom activities aligned with curriculum standards
- Support children during instructional activities, playtime, and rest periods
- Supervise children to ensure safety and proper behavior management
- Help with classroom organization, including preparing materials and maintaining cleanliness
- Provide one-on-one support to children with special needs or disabilities as required
- Implement behavior management strategies under the guidance of the lead teacher
- Support children's social-emotional development through positive interactions and caregiving
- Assist with diapering, feeding, and other childcare responsibilities for infants and toddlers
- Help facilitate inclusive activities that promote childhood development and preschool readiness
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, preschool, or babysitting is preferred
- Knowledge of childhood development, early childhood education, and classroom management techniques
- Certifications such as First Aid and CPR are highly desirable
- Experience working with children with disabilities or special education needs is a plus
- Ability to handle caregiving tasks including infant care, toddler care, and behavior management
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with children, parents, and staff
- Compassionate, patient, organized, and able to maintain a positive attitude in a dynamic environment
- Must meet all state licensing requirements for childcare providers
