Duties
- Conduct thorough mental health assessments and diagnostic evaluations using clinical terminology and standardized tools such as ICD-10 coding systems.
- Develop personalized treatment plans incorporating evidence-based practices such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and applied behavior analysis tailored to each client's needs.
- Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions focusing on conditions such as PTSD, addiction, autism spectrum disorder, developmental disabilities, and substance use disorders.
- Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to engage clients in their recovery process and enhance motivation for change.
- Coordinate patient care with medical professionals, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards within EMR/EHR systems.
- Manage crisis situations effectively through crisis intervention strategies while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies.
- Collect data for clinical research projects related to behavioral health outcomes and participate in case management activities to support clients' ongoing needs.
Qualifications
- Valid licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or equivalent in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Proven experience working with children and adolescents in behavioral health or mental health settings; experience with adults or geriatric populations is also valued.
- Spanish-speaking preferred.
- Strong knowledge of psychotherapeutic modalities including cognitive-behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, addiction counseling, and crisis management techniques.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and medical terminology essential for accurate documentation and compliance with clinical documentation standards.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or complex mental health conditions such as PTSD is highly desirable.
- Ability to work effectively with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds while adhering to clinical confidentiality policies.
- Excellent communication skills for client engagement and professional collaboration; experience in research or data collection is a plus.
