What You’ll Do
As Program Director for our newly constructed supportive housing program in Brooklyn (HELP One Bldg. A), you’ll report to the Vice President of Supportive Housing and Services and lead a staff of 20 providing supportive services for 111 families with children headed by young adults aged 18 to 25 years. This includes supervision of the social services and tenant services teams and coordination of day-to-day activities associated with managing supportive housing programs and the delivery of services. You’ll also serve as a liaison to all funding and regulatory agencies and be responsible for meeting all program targets and ensuring quality service delivery on the program.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Direct supervision of social services and tenant services staff for HELP One (Building A).
- Coordination with DSS/HRA/CoC or other tenant referral sources to verify tenant eligibility and provide support for ongoing maintenance of benefits.
- Serving as liaison with the building’s Property Managers as well as security and maintenance staff at the program site, as needed, to facilitate the safety and well-being of all tenants.
- Developing strong relationships with community agencies, businesses, community leaders, and neighborhood-based organizations (Community Boards, Police Precincts, local service providers, community groups, etc.) and developing additional program resources when appropriate.
- Timely completion and submission of all program reports.
- Ensuring the integrity of the AWARDS case management system and all other program records.
- Engaging all funding and regulatory agencies to ensure programs are meeting all required program targets.
You’re a great fit for this role if you have:
- Master’s degree, preferably in Social Work (MSW) or Mental Health Counseling (MHC), or a related field. If you don’t have your master’s degree yet, but you’re currently enrolled in a relevant master’s program, we can work with that.
- Experience in case management (at least 3 years).
- Management experience (at least 3 years), including supervision, staff development, program management, and budgeting.
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
It would be helpful (but not required) if you have:
- Experience working with homeless and/or at-risk populations preferred.
- Experience working with rental assistance programs and other housing subsidies preferred.
Compensation
Actual compensation will not be less than the applicable minimum wage, prevailing wage, or exempt salary requirements under federal, state and local laws.
