The Director of Development is responsible for strategically fostering community relationships and the oversight and development of all fundraising efforts at Help & Hope Center. As a champion of our mission, the Director of Development inspires community members to engage with Help & Hope Center, forming partnerships that further positive community change. The ideal candidate will view this role as a calling and not just a job. A heart for the mission is critical.
Job Responsibilities:
- Annually develops community outreach plan and establishes goals
- Plan and evaluate fundraising campaigns and activities
- Develop and implement appropriate budgets and timeline plans for events.
- Expand and maintain annual partnerships/sponsorships with businesses and corporations
- Develop and maintain relationships with individual donors with a focus on retention and campaigns that include Colorado Gives Day
- Supervise all development staff
- Strategize and implement changes for improving existing events (improvements may include income, attendance and efficiency, outcomes, etc.)
- Manage the Development budget and fundraising agenda
- Identify and steward prospective and current donors
- Manage all external communications including newsletters, social media, direct donor communications, etc.
- Oversee all fundraising events and event sponsorships: including Turkey Rock Trot (the most fun you may ever have running a 5k to earn your pumpkin pie).
Qualifications:
- Expertise in Planned Giving and Annual Giving with a proven ability to build and sustain donor relationships
- Advanced knowledge of Fundraising strategies, including campaign planning and execution
- Strong skills in Philanthropy and donor engagement, with a passion for building community partnerships
- Proficiency in Budgeting and financial oversight within a nonprofit environment
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Experience with donor database management and CRM platforms is a plus
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in development, fundraising, or a related role
