Christian Mental Health Therapist / Counselor

This a W2 employee position for outpatient therapist (LAC, LPC, LMSW, LCSW, LMFT).

Help and Hope Counseling is a Christian Counseling Agency that works with people from all walks of life regardless of their spirituality, sexual orientation, or ethnicity. I am seeking a highly motivated therapist with self discipline. This is for someone would enjoy a private practice but wants community and does not want the hassle or stress of running their own business.

Help and Hope Counseling has a passion for individuals with Trauma, ADHD, anxiety, depression, and a desire to build strong families and marriages. EMDR or Image Transformation Therapy Training is preferred. Willingness to work with children is also a plus.

Responsibilities: (See the “W2 Employment Agreement” for a detailed job description of the position responsibilities in addition to providing psychotherapy.)


Provides outpatient psychotherapy/counseling to clients via telehealth or in person.

* Full-time (minimum of 20 with a targeted goal of 30 sessions per week) - 
* Part Time (minimum of 5 with a targeted goal of 19 sessions per week).

Willing to work one evening till 7pm one night a week.

Must complete documentation within 24 hours.

Complete intake and assessments, Diagnosis and Treatment Plans within two sessions.

Actively work towards building their client base through referrals and community contacts.

Respond to all inquiries (phone, email, Psychology Today) within 4 hours (at least 24 hours).

Other duties as assigned or described in the Employee Handbook and/or Compensation Agreement.

Associates have Supervision at least 1 hour per month (will increase with case load).


Other Requirements:

• You must be in good standing with Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners and current holder of an independent license (i.e LPC, LCSW, LMFT), non-independent license (i.e. LAC), application pending, temporary license or ability to apply for temporary license.
• DSM-5 TR diagnostic competency.
• Demonstrable understanding of case conceptualization, Diagnosis and Treatment Plans, and appropriate documentation.
• Pass background check, drug screen, and/or have an active/current Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Equipment: Must have a smartphone, your own computer if you want to do Telehealth from home, internet access, and be comfortable with technology.
• If working remotely you must have a secure, professional, HIPAA compliant space to perform Telehealth sessions, Professional office space is provided for in-person appointments.

COMPENSATION: Therapists are paid on the 15th and last day of the month.

Associate Level Licensed Counselors (ie LAC/LMSW)

Part-Time (Average of 19 sessions per week or fewer)

• Base Commission: 46.43% of revenue as reported through SimplePractice
• Employer-Paid FICA: 7.65% of base commission (adds 3.55%)
• Total Effective Rate to Employee: 50% of revenue

Full-Time (Average of 20 sessions per week or more)

• Base Commission: 51.03% of revenue as reported through SimplePractice
• Employer-Paid FICA: 7.65% of base commission (adds 3.91%)
• Total Effective Rate to Employee: 55% of revenue


The percentage rate shown is of cash flow (Revenue) from client sessions as reported on the income allocation report in Simple Practice. As an employee, Help and Hope Counseling pays 7.65% toward your FICA taxes that you would have to pay yourself as a 1099 sub contractor.

Income Estimate: Based on 6 sessions a day @ $55.00 per session commission = $330.00 per day, $1,650.00 per week or about $82,500.00 per year with 2 weeks off and includes supervision towards full licensure.

INDEPENDENTLY LICENSED THERAPISTS (LPC/LMFT/LCSW)

Part Time (At an average of 19 sessions per week per pay period or less)

• Base Commission: 55.71% of revenue as reported through SimplePractice
• Employer-Paid FICA: 7.65% of base commission
• Total Effective Rate to Employee: 60% of revenue

Full-Time (Average of 20 sessions per week or more)

• Base Commission: 60.40% of revenue as reported through SimplePractice.
• Employer-Paid FICA: 7.65% of base commission (adds 4.62%)
• Total Effective Rate to Employee: 65% of revenue

Income Estimate: Based on 6 sessions a day @ $65.00 per session commission = $390.00 per day, $1,950.00 per week or about $97,500 per year with 2 weeks off.

Health benefits are not included.
