What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ecommerce Specialist position at HELLO Recruitment?
E-commerce Marketplace Specialist
(Marina del Rey, CA)
The Opportunity
*This is an opportunity we are working on for one of our clients*
We’re looking for the person who runs the day-to-day across our marketplace and direct-to-consumer channels — Amazon, TikTok Shop, Walmart, and our own storefront. Think of this seat as the engine room of the marketplace team: you keep every listing dialed in, every seller account in good standing, and every product launch landing on schedule. It’s a role that lives where platform know-how, cross-team coordination, and tight processes all meet.
What You’ll Own
Channel health and optimization
- Stay ahead of the metrics that decide account standing — Buy Box win rate, Order Defect Rate, and each platform’s service-level requirements.
- Build and sharpen listings, from A content and Enhanced Brand Content to product copy and embedded video.
- Untangle catalog issues as they appear — SKU migration glitches, mis-placements, and policy or compliance flags.
- Run platform programs end to end, including Amazon Vine, Walmart Pro Seller, and live shopping moments on TikTok.
- Plan around seasonal curveballs such as heat-sensitive product limits and tighter shipping windows.
- Protect the brand through trademark and policy compliance everywhere we sell.
- Forecast revenue through more than one lens — rolling averages, trend lines, and day-of-week patterns.
- Keep tabs on warehouse performance, including WRO/URO tracking, receiving-SLA adherence, and order accuracy.
Product data and launches
- Act as the connective tissue between our PIM and every marketplace we list on.
- Write and maintain product copy — both short blurbs and full-length descriptions — for the entire active catalog.
- Order creative assets and make sure they show up consistently from one channel to the next.
- Drive launches from start to finish: setup beforehand, coordination on launch day, and QA once the product is live.
- Keep launch templates and project tracking organized in Asana.
- Stamp out duplicate SKUs and keep product information aligned across D2C, Amazon, TikTok, Walmart, and whatever channel comes next.
What You Bring
- Four or more years running marketplace operations, with hands-on Amazon Seller Central experience essential; TikTok Shop or Walmart exposure is a welcome bonus.
- A track record of juggling several sales channels at once.
- Experience leading offshore teams and documenting how the work actually gets done.
Tools and Technical Know-How
- Deep, confident command of Amazon Seller Central, TikTok Shop Seller Center, and Walmart Seller Center.
- Comfortable with PIM platforms, Dynamics ERP, and storefront tools such as Shopify and WooCommerce.
- Solid Excel skills are a must.
- Familiarity with API integrations and marketplace automation tools is a plus.
- Hands-on with support platforms like Zendesk or Freshdesk, including AI-assisted service workflows.
How You Operate
- Detail-obsessed — you spot a broken listing long before it snowballs into an account problem.
- Able to keep several launches moving in parallel without letting anything slip through.
- A clear writer who can produce SOPs an offshore team can genuinely follow.
- You treat marketplace oddities as puzzles worth cracking, not roadblocks.
- You surface process improvements on your own, before anyone thinks to ask.
