Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Cannabis METRC Specialist to manage and oversee the compliance and data entry processes within the state’s cannabis tracking system, METRC (Marijuana Enforcement Tracking Reporting Compliance). This role is vital in ensuring accurate inventory management, regulatory adherence, and seamless operations within a licensed cannabis cultivation or processing facility. Duties
- Accurately input and maintain all inventory data within the METRC system, including plant batches, transfers, sales, and waste disposal
- Monitor daily inventory movements to ensure compliance with state regulations and internal policies
- Collaborate with cultivation, processing, and compliance teams to verify data accuracy and resolve discrepancies promptly
- Conduct regular audits of physical inventory against METRC records to identify and correct inconsistencies
- Assist with the setup and calibration of greenhouse irrigation systems and mechanical equipment as needed
- Support the cultivation team by providing data on plant growth stages, harvest schedules, and environmental conditions
- Maintain detailed records of all transactions, plant identification details, and inventory adjustments in accordance with regulatory standards
- Stay informed about updates to METRC regulations and ensure ongoing compliance through continuous process improvements
Skills
- Strong knowledge of METRC or similar cannabis tracking systems with experience in data entry and compliance management
- Growing experience in horticulture, greenhouse cultivation, or outdoor farming environments
- Familiarity with irrigation systems, land management, lawn care, gardening, and landscaping practices
- Mechanical knowledge related to greenhouse equipment, hand tools, pumps, valves, and other farming machinery
- Ability to identify various plants accurately through visual inspection and understanding of plant development stages
- Basic math skills for inventory calculations, measurements, and record keeping
- Physical capability for heavy lifting, outdoor work in varying weather conditions, and manual labor tasks
- Excellent attention to detail combined with proactive communication skills for team collaboration
