Job Description
This position is responsible for the mechanical build and start-up of machine tool equipment. The position requires strong mechanical aptitude, an in-depth knowledge of metric prints, and an understanding of metal cutting principles. Participate in the installation of equipment at customers’ site as needed.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Assemble and start-up new CNC machines to Heller factory specifications
- Assemble and start-up assembly equipment
- Utilize precision measuring instruments (such as calipers, levels, indicators, micrometers, lasers, etc.)
- Perform geometry checks according to Heller measuring protocols
- Read and follow mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical prints/drawings
- Fitting, aligning, calibrating and adjusting parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product operating requirements
- Troubleshoot machine errors
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment

- Advanced technician training, completed related apprenticeship or a minimum of 4 years related experience.
- Understanding of drawings, schematics and troubleshooting
- Previous CNC machining or machine building experience preferred
- Experience with precision machining assembly
- NC programming experience a plus
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Strong mechanical skills
- Strong knowledge of CNC controls (Siemens/Fanuc)
- Time management skills
- Self-motivated; able to work alone or in a team
- Full understanding of the metric system
- Strong math skills
- Good aptitude for troubleshooting
- Willing to work overtime as required
