About us

Hellenika is a small business in Seattle, WA. We are professional, innovative, collaborative and our goal is to Yvonne Klein, was a flight attendant based out of Vancouver BC, who frequently traveled between Australia and Seattle. She discovered the Apostolopoulos’ families Greek Yogurt in Australia and was determined to bring it to the US. In 2011, the Klein and Apostolopoulos families agreed to open in Seattle. On July 5, 2013, Ellenos opened the US’s first Real Greek Yogurt Bar at Seattle’s Historic Pike Place Market. Hellenika was started to return to the entrepreneurial sprit that made Ellenos a success to beginning with along with returning to his family traditional methods; strained yogurt, cooked in small batches focusing on local partnerships and ingredients. Hellenika is also more than just yogurt. We are a Cultured Creamery and a test kitchen. We are he to work with all our customers and partners to come up with new incredible tasting products all based on Yogurt & Cultured Dairy. .

Title: team MEMBER

Reports to: Retail Manager

General Purpose of the Position

The Retail Team Member is responsible for preparing yogurt display cases, scooping yogurt, and providing exceptional customer service. The Retail Team Member performs all cash register functions and bags products, while always displaying a positive, helpful and enthusiastic attitude. In thbis role, team members will be serving Seattle the best greek yogurt and gelato around!

Essential Functions

• Lead by example by always offering promotions and samples to customers
• Contribute ideas on new promotions and ideas for the brand
• Training of junior staff as directed by Supervisor
• Maintain customer service standards
• Maintain a positive attitude
• Strive to improve product knowledge
• Maintain display presentation at all times
• Quality control and stock rotation
• Continuously learning about Ellenos products
• Address customer complaints appropriately and follow-up with supervisors when necessary
• Providing feedback to the management team on the success of promotions
• Contribute to safe working environment
• Follow cleaning processes
• Flexibility to cover shifts at short notice/organize a shift to be covered
• Follow company recipes
• Always maintain a strong positive customer focus
• Passionate about Hellenikas story and product and able to effectively communicate information to customers
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance
• Preserve confidentiality of information
• Keep front of house shop clean and neat
• Always have a can do attitude

Other Functions

• Other tasks as assigned by the Company.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

• Food handlers permit required
• Strong communications skills
• Customer service experience essential
• Ability to work in an independent, self-directed environment while demonstrating a willingness to take initiative.
• Attention to detail in all aspects of work
• Prior cash register/till experience highly preferred

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis
• Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, and reach overhead.
• Ability to operate telephone
• Ability to operate a tablet and register
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
• Ability to access and produce information from a computer
• Ability to understand and produce written information

Skills:
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and making change
- Knowledge of retail math for calculating discounts, taxes, and sales prices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
