About Us: Family owned and operated for over 50 years, Hellas is a beloved Greek restaurant and bakery situated on the picturesque Sponge Docks. We are seeking to add an experienced Service Bartender to our exceptional Front-of-House team. With a warm and welcoming atmosphere, Hellas is a local favorite known for its delicious cuisine and friendly service.
Position Overview: The Bartender will be responsible for providing excellent service to guests at the bar (4 seats), as well as handling To Go orders and collaborating with Servers to fulfill guest drink needs. The ideal candidate will maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude in a high-volume environment.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for patrons and service orders, following standard recipes and customer preferences.
- Ring drink orders into POS system, process payments, and provide correct change.
- Maintain bar supplies, glassware, and garnishes, ensuring an attractive display and cleanliness.
- Check IDs to verify legal drinking age and adhere to health and safety regulations.
- Manage inventory, control waste, and follow rotation procedures to ensure product freshness.
- Serve hot or cold food, appetizers, and desserts as needed.
- Work collaboratively with team members and perform other duties as assigned.
Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.
- Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to interact with all levels of employees and customers.
- Tact and diplomacy for handling difficult situations.
- Basic math skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
Education and/or Experience:
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 years of experience in a similar position.
- Florida Alcohol Seller Certification preferred.
