Hellas is seeking a traveling Preventive Maintenance Technician to service varied equipment across Houston, San Antonio, and South Texas regions. This role involves conducting equipment inspections, performing preventive maintenance, and addressing field repairs, with frequent overnight travel required. A service truck and tools will be provided. Basic mechanical knowledge is essential, and bilingual English-Spanish skills are preferred to better serve diverse job sites.
Responsibilities
- Perform oil and fluid changes, filter replacements, and system lubrication
- Conduct routine multi-point inspections on engines, hydraulics, powertrains, and electrical systems
- Identify worn or failing parts before major breakdowns occur
- Troubleshoot minor mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues
- Replace broken components and perform minor body and structural repairs on-site
- Respond to emergency field service calls and sudden equipment failures
- Complete service reports, work orders, and daily logs accurately
- Maintain inventory and organization of spare parts and tools in the service truck
- Communicate repair updates and timelines to project managers and site clients
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in equipment maintenance
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license
- Skilled in mechanical diagnostics and field repairs
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour
