What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician - Night Shift position at Hellas Construction, Inc.?
The Maintenance Technician will ensure safety practices are being followed, machines are maintained and are running efficiently, housekeeping is maintained, and waste is kept at a minimum.
The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for maintaining all production and facility equipment. The Maintenance Technician will interface with operations, work with quality control to ensure that our standards are met and maintain health and safety standards (OSHA) for the workplace and for all individuals.
Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Ensure safe and clean working environment for the facility
- Ensure all production lines are maintained and are running efficiently and effectively by
- Contributing to an annual Preventative Maintenance Schedule
- Performing Maintenance to be performed by machine during planned and unplanned downtime
- Keeping a maintenance log for each machine
- Organizing all MRO items by machine
- Organizing all tools necessary to maintain all machines
- Diagnosing and correcting machine malfunctions and downtime
- Working with Quality Department to address quality concerns created by machines
- Participating in Safety walk-throughs and completing maintenance items identified during walk-throughs
- Ensure that production goals are being met
- Any other duties as assigned by management
Work Environment and Physical Demands
- Standing for long periods of time
- Lifting up to 50 pounds
- Climbing ladders
- Walking long distances
- High temperatures
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
- Non-exempt
- Five 9-hour shifts per week
- Weekends as scheduled
Qualifications / Skills
- Ability to think critically, communicate with other members of management and employees and, set and meet goals
- Ability to work with computers on twisters and extrusion lines
- Mechanical, electrical, welding experience preferred
- PLC and programing experience are a plus
- 2 years of manufacturing experience preferred
- Extrusion machine experience is a plus
