Job Summary
The Director of Information Technology (IT) oversees the organization's technology infrastructure, operations, and strategy execution. This leadership role ensures the effective use of IT systems to support business objectives, drive innovation, and maintain security and compliance standards. The Director of IT works with the VP of IT and ERP, executive leadership and cross-functional teams to align technology solutions with business needs. This role is accountable for developing our technology strategies, leading/teaching/coaching/developing the IT team, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations. This role will engage directly with the M&A Integration process to ensure that new acquisitions are incorporated into the corporate centralized technology controls and security processes. The IT Director will work cross-functionally with finance, sales operations, risk/safety, legal, procurement, and M&A Integration to stay aligned and help the organization stay ahead of needs.

Duties / Responsibilities
IT Strategy & Leadership
- Collaborate with the VP of IT and ERP to develop and execute the IT strategy aligned with the company's business goals.
- Lead IT initiatives to improve operational efficiency, cybersecurity, and digital transformation.
- Oversee IT governance, policies, and compliance with industry regulations.
- Manage relationships with key stakeholders, vendors, and technology partners.
- Oversee IT infrastructure design, implementation, and maintenance, including networks, cloud solutions, and data centers.
- Ensure high availability, reliability, and security of IT systems.
- Monitor system performance and proactively address potential risks and issues.
- Lead IT service management to increase the ITSM maturity model to exceed business service and end-user requirements.
- Manage hybrid infrastructure with designs for a migration to a cloud only landscape.
- Complete quarterly Disaster Recovery testing to document that system restores complete successfully.
- Implement and maintain cybersecurity policies, risk management, and disaster recovery plans.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations such as PCI DSS, NIST and SOC 2, as applicable.
- Protect the organization's data assets through robust security measures and access controls.
- Oversee enterprise applications (e.g., ERP, CRM, HRIS, E-Commerce, and business intelligence) and tools.
- Evaluate and implement new technologies to enhance business efficiency and decision-making.
- Lead or guide digital transformation projects to modernize IT infrastructure and optimize processes.
- Manage integration projects for divisions that are acquired via M&A to seamlessly migrate their technology stack.
- Manage the functionality of a cloud based VoIP system, plan and execute seamless migrations and integrations.
- Develop and manage the IT budget, ensuring cost-effective technology investments.
- Negotiate contracts and relationships with vendors and service providers to secure the best terms for Helix.
- Ensure optimal licensing and procurement strategies for IT assets.
- Build/Maintain strong relationships to ensure high-quality products, competitive pricing, and timely delivery.
- Monitor performance and address any issues related to quality, delivery, or service.
- Develop and maintain an evaluation and audit process to ensure ongoing compliance with performance standards.
- Lead, teach, coach, mentor, and develop the IT team, fostering a culture of collaboration, performance, and continuous improvement.
- Set clear performance goals and provide regular feedback and coaching to team members.
- Oversee the hiring, training, and development of the Technology staff.
- Serve as an escalation point for issues that require a higher level of critical thinking or leadership authority.
- Ensure all IT activities comply with internal policies, ethical standards, and relevant laws and regulations.
- Manage risk by developing contingency plans for disruptions and sourcing alternatives.
- Collaborate with the legal department to ensure all contracts and procurement agreements meet legal and regulatory requirements.
- Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to IT, such as cost savings, SLA performance, and Security Posture.
- Provide regular reports and updates to executive leadership on IT performance, challenges, and opportunities.
- Use data-driven insights to refine IT strategies and optimize sourcing decisions.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. An MBA or advanced IT degree is preferred.
- 8 years in IT leadership roles, including experience managing IT teams and budgets.
- Experience aligning ITSM services to exceed business needs leveraging ITIL
- Expertise in IT infrastructure, cloud computing, cybersecurity, enterprise software, and digital transformation.
- Strong ability to lead teams, drive change, and collaborate with executive leadership.
- Certifications (Preferred): ITIL, PMP, CISSP, AWS/Azure certifications.
- Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to develop and motivate a high-performing team.
- Experience overseeing and understanding a mobile device management solution for corporate devices.
