The Sling Technician/ General labor is responsible for pulling jobs, loading and unloading equipment, washing/staging equipment, and ensuring inspections are current in the Fourchon, LA area.
Job Specification
Employees predominantly engage in the following essential job functions during their day-to-day activities.
- Perform Maintenance and service on equipment such as pressure washing, painting, completing inspections.
- Changes slings and prepare reports for recertification
- Install recertified slings
- Completes forklift and truck safety checklists daily/upon use
- Racking pipe slings and inspection of slings
- Load and unload incoming and outgoing equipment.
- Maintain a and submit accurate inspection forms, delivery paperwork, etc.
- Maintain a safe work site.
- Assist with other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience
- Strong work ethic
- High attention to detail
- Basic computer knowledge – must use BASIS, MS outlook.
- Stop work by challenging and stopping unsafe acts and behaviors or unsafe conditions.
- Comply with Standard Operating Procedures defined in Responsibilities above, and company STOP WORK system.
- This position requires employees to stay on site for their assigned 7-day work hitch (Wednesday – Tuesday). Employees that are local to the Port Fourchon/Golden Meadow/Galliano area may be permitted to stay at their residence during their hitch except for days/nights they are scheduled to be on-call.
