We are now accepting resume/applications for Skilled Laborers for the New Orleans, LA, and surrounding areas. Duties/Responsibilities may/may not be limited to the following:
- Job Scope:
- A General Laborer is responsible for performing various tasks to aid daily operations at a construction site. Their duties include loading and unloading tools or raw materials, assembling scaffolding or other pieces of equipment and digging or filling in pits throughout the construction process.
- Schedule:
- 8-10 Hour Days (with weather permitting)
- Monday - Friday (Weekends as needed)
- Duration of Job: 1 Week
- Position Requirements:
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must be able to provide own PPE
- Must be able to pass a drug screen.
- Required Skills:
- Strong oral & written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with others.
- Excellent organizational skills, ability to multi-task
- Familiarity with power tools and machinery is a plus.
- Good physical condition and endurance
- Duties/Responsibilities:Physical Requirements:
- Cleaning and preparing a job site.
- Maintain the work area clean, safe and organized.
- Assist in waste disposal and recycling activities
- Cleanup work area and equipment after work is completed.
- Practice safety procedures in accordance with training and guidelines when working.
- Comply with company policies and legal guidelines, helping to maintain a safe and orderly work environment
- Meet quality and performance requirements as outlined by quality assurance and production standards
- Report safety hazards, quality, and production issues to management immediately
- Ability to work in varying hot and cold environments
- Ability to work in an environment with exposures to dust, dirt and various other debris, metal and paint fumes, gases
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to high, precarious places and outside weather conditions
- The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and risk of electrical shock
- Prepare new construction sites by digging, moving dirt, or compacting space.
- Provide assistance to contractors (i.e., craft workers, electricians, painters) as needed.
- Transport merchandise between receiving stations, warehouse, and production areas.
- Record the material amount or count received and circulated.
- Maintain industry vehicles and material handling equipment in safe and good working condition.
- Drive industrial vehicles to transfer materials.
- Operate manual material handling equipment such as hand jacks and wheeled carts safely.
- Lift and carry merchandises/material as needed.
- Inspect merchandise upon delivery to identify any damages.
- Load and unload merchandise to and from trailers.
- Mange housekeeping activities when requested.
- Execute daily work instructions received from Supervisor in a timely manner.
- Work effectively to meet or exceed productivity goals while maintaining high quality standards.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 LBS.
- Must be able to stand, bend, stoop, squat, or kneel regularly, as well as climb stairs and ladders to complete tasks.
- Ability to work outdoors in harsh weather conditions
