Helix Electric is seeking a Senior Electrical Commissioning Technician with strong load banking and energization experience to support data center and commercial electrical projects. This is a hands-on field role focused on testing, startup, troubleshooting, and safe execution around critical power equipment.
Duties & Scope
Candidates must be comfortable with field work, outdoor conditions, PPE, physical labor, overtime, nights, weekends, and travel as required by the project.

Helix Electric is seeking a Senior Electrical Commissioning Technician with strong load banking and energization experience to support data center and commercial electrical projects. This is a hands-on field role focused on testing, startup, troubleshooting, and safe execution around critical power equipment.
Duties & Scope
- Perform and support load bank testing on generators, UPS systems, and related equipment
- Support energization, startup, troubleshooting, and commissioning activities in the field
- Run and connect temporary cables and terminations for testing scopes
- Read electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documents
- Follow LOTO, PPE, OSHA, and NFPA 70E safety practices
- 8 years of commercial electrical experience
- 3-5 years of journeyman-level experience
- Previous hands-on load banking experience
- Energization or electrical startup experience required
- QEW experience preferred
- Experience with switchgear, generators, panels, breakers, UPS systems, and PDUs
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical issues safely in the field
- Bachelor’s degree in administration or an engineering field preferred
- Experience with relevant software, such as MS Office, Autodesk Construction Cloud Build, Egnyte, CXAlloy, and Bluebeam
- Strong leadership and team management abilities
- Excellent data collection and analytical skills
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a teamwork attitude
- Clean OMV, drug test results, and background check
- Data center or other mission-critical experience
- Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
