ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Responsible for the administration of all Company-Sponsored Benefits and Wellness Programs, including but not limited to, Enrollment and Qualifying Life Event (QLE) Processes, Open Enrollment Processes, Administration of COBRA, Administration of Leaves of Absences (LOA) including FMLA, and Non- Industrial Return to Work Processes.
  • First point of contact in handling employee benefits inquiries and resolving employee insurance issues, including the management of the benefits’ general inbox.
  • Assists employees regarding benefits claim issues and plan changes. Conducts review, research, and troubleshoots to resolve benefits-related issues and updates management and employees.
  • Supports the Benefits Manager and liaises with the benefits carriers, serves as a point of contact for vendors and third-party administrators to file claims and ensures to provide accurate eligibility information.
  • Processes and administers leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork: medical, personal, disability and FMLA.
  • Conducts and coordinates LOA communication between employees and benefits department, sending appropriate documentation, maintaining accurate records and tracking status of LOA requests.
  • Recommends new approaches, policies, procedures related to best practices within the benefits field.
  • Formulate solutions to solve needs regarding benefits
  • Supports Benefits Manager to develop and prepare communications to employees about benefit programs, procedures, claims and any other government-mandated disclosures.
  • Maintain records and procedures for the administration process, including medical electronic files.
  • Ensure accuracy of employee benefits data, including service from third party vendors.
  • Work directly with supervisor on return-to-work programs, FMLA, Non-Industrial leave.
  • Help ensure benefit plans are administered according to plan provisions and company’s regulatory guidelines.
  • Assist with Processing National Support Orders (such as QMSO) from the court systems.
  • Partner with regional HR Coordinators who are managing and responding to benefit related questions for their regions.
  • Serve as the back-up with a regional HR Coordinator is not available to respond to all benefit inquiries within 24 hours.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • AA/AS degree and up to five years of related experience, or BA/BS in HR or related subject plus two or more years of relevant experience.
  • Focused on attention to detail with excellent organization and project management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to interact with staff, colleagues, and cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication skills. Ability to convey information in a clear, focused, concise manner.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Adobe Suite of Products.

PERSONAL QUALITIES: A sense of urgency, flexibility, adaptability to constant change, attention to detail, follow through, and an attitude of service, cooperation, quality and continuous improvement in work processes and output.

REASONING ABILITY Ability to define common problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

The starting annual base pay for this role is between USD $50,000 and $75,000 per year. The actual hourly pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: location, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. The role is eligible for benefits, and bonus.
