Job Summary:

The Maintenance Technician will support reliable plant operations by maintaining and repairing a wide variety of CNC machinery, automated production equipment, and facility systems. This role focuses on troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and driving continuous improvement to reduce downtime and improve equipment performance.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair CNC machines (e.g., lathes, grinders, hones, and related equipment).
  • Maintain and repair automation systems integrated with production equipment, including robots, sensors, vision systems, drives, and motion controls.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on CNC, automation, and support equipment according to established schedules.
  • Respond to equipment and facility breakdowns; quickly restore power and operation to minimize production interruptions.
  • Support and maintain facility systems such as compressed air, HVAC, lighting, and basic plumbing and electrical.
  • Perform general building maintenance and repairs as needed.
  • Accurately document maintenance activities, parts usage, and root causes in maintenance systems.
  • Identify recurring issues and recommend/implement permanent corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with operations, engineering, and other technicians to improve equipment reliability and safety.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, uptime, and cost reduction.
  • Effective communication, interpersonal skills to coordinate with operations, explain repairs, and collaborate with team members.
Qualifications:

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • 3 years of maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment, preferably with CNC and automated equipment.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve equipment failures efficiently.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, equipment manuals, and technical documentation.
  • Experience with industrial automation components including sensors, drives, PLCs, servo systems preferred.
  • Strong mechanical & technical aptitude, understanding of tools, equipment, ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and equipment manuals.
  • Familiarity with preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
  • Effective time management skills with the ability to balance planned maintenance tasks alongside urgent, unexpected repair requests.

 

Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate degree or technical certification in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or related field preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and hands-on maintenance experience will be considered.

  • The employee may be required to work at heights, use ladders, and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity and sustained physical effort.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is primarily exposed to a manufacturing environment with moving mechanical parts, electrical equipment, vibration, elevated work areas, and varying temperatures.
  • The employee may be exposed to noise, oils, lubricants, coolants, and other industrial substances and is required to utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with company policies and safety procedures.
  • The employee may be required to work overtime, respond to emergency maintenance situations, and support off-shift operations as business needs dictate.
