Job Summary:
The Deburr Technician is responsible for finishing and inspecting machined parts to meet specified quality standards. This includes removing burrs, sharp edges, and surface imperfections using various hand tools, power tools, and other equipment. The role requires strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and an understanding of technical drawings and specifications.
Duties/Responsibilities:

Perform deburring, polishing, and finishing operations on precision-machined parts.

Use tools such as files, scrapers, sandpaper, rotary tools, grinders, and buffing wheels.

Inspect parts to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, tolerances, and quality standards.

Use measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify part accuracy.

Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions to determine deburring and finishing requirements.

Maintain tools and equipment to ensure proper functionality.

Report any damaged or worn-out tools to supervisors.

Follow all safety guidelines and workplace policies to maintain a safe working environment.

Ensure proper handling and disposal of materials.

Work closely with machinists, inspectors, and other team members to ensure parts meet specifications.

Communicate any discrepancies or issues with parts to the supervisor promptly.
Required Skills/Abilities:

Proficiency with deburring tools and techniques is a plus.

Familiarity with basic inspection tools and practices is a plus.

Education and Experience:

High School Diploma or GED.

Strong problem-solving skills.

Previous experience in deburring or precision machining (preferred but not required).
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, feel/reach with hands/arms, and talk to hear.
The employee frequently is required to sit and walk. The employee is occasionally required to bend and stop, push and pull, reach above shoulder level, kneel, squat, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job to include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
