What are the responsibilities and job description for the Structural Welder position at Helion Group?
We are seeking a skilled Structural Steel Welder to join our team in La Crosse, VA. This position is responsible for welding structural steel components while interpreting blueprints and ensuring all work meets quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform MIG welding on structural steel components, including beams, joists, webbing, connection plates, stiffeners, and supporting brackets.
Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and fabrication drawings.
Set up and operate welding equipment safely and efficiently.
Inspect welds to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
Use grinders and other hand tools to prepare and finish welds.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
Follow all company safety and quality procedures.
Required Qualifications
Previous structural steel welding experience.
Ability to pass a structural steel weld test.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols.
Experience using measuring tools, including a tape measure, and working with decimal measurements.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality welds.
