THE POSITION
Job Title: Stringer Supervisor
Position Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt Hourly
Department: Operations
Supervision Received: Production Lead
Supervision Exercised: Stinger Operators
Schedule: Shift work, rotating 12-hour shifts, 4 days on/off
Wage/Salary: Base wage of $25.50/hour, with shift differential
Location: Mountain Iron, Minnesota
The Stringer Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that a team of Stringer Operators effectively, efficiently, and safely execute their duties to ensure the production line does not stop. The Stringer Supervisor is responsible for tracking and managing attendance and employee-related issues and works closely with the Production Leads and Senior Production Manager to ensure a strong operating team. They are responsible for ongoing training and development as well as ensuring a safe work environment.
· Manage a team of stringer operators in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
· Evaluate, monitor, and mentor employees regarding performance, productivity, and compliance.
· Provide coaching and feedback to Stringer Operators.
· Work closely with Production Leads and production team to ensure that quality and production targets are met.
· Ensure all operators are adhering to safety policies.
· Operate and monitor HMI systems to control and troubleshoot manufacturing equipment.
· Adjust machine parameters - i.e. temperature, speed, vacuum, to optimize production and quality.
· Troubleshoot equipment issues using HMI diagnostics to minimize downtime.
· Ensure compliance with quality and production standards through regular parameter adjustments.
· Collaborate with maintenance and engineering to improve efficiency and yield.
· Perform machine adjustments to increase the machines’ performance.
· Ensure all areas of the stringer are running optimally and safely.
· Real-time decision-making based on the needs of the company.
· Become proficient with all facets of the stringer with the ability to train operators and maintain employee training records.
· Complete daily shift production reports.
· Perform all duties of a Stringer Operator.
· Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
A minimum of a high school diploma (or equivalent) with at least two years of related supervisor experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
· Previous experience working on/leading production lines is considered an asset
· Ability to be a people leader
· Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) including the ability to communicate clearly, succinctly, and effectively with all departments
· Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
· Ability to be a self-starter and have strong teamwork skills
· Mechanical and/or Electrical skills an asset
· Experience with HMI interfaces
· Safety minded
· Strong multi-tasker
· Experience with Microsoft Office and applicable operating systems required
· Background check and drug screening required
· This position is identified as a Safety Sensitive Position
Physical Requirements:
· Must be 18 years of age or older
· Must be able to perform repetitive motion tasks for extended periods of time
· Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
· Must be able to tolerate an assembly line environment
Compensation Package:
· Salary: $25.50 - $29.00 /hr
o Night Shift premium: $1 per hour
· Benefits 401K
· 12-hour shifts, 4 on 4 off rotation (2 weeks of days, 2 weeks of nights)
