Overview
Helicor is looking to add a HSE Manager to our growing organization. The below activities do not encompass all the job responsibilities but will be the main focus of this position. Helicor is an engineering and construction company focused on the design and installation of steel foundation systems, specifically helical piles. Our projects are located across the lower 48 states and vary in size and revenue amounts. Helicor’s operation team works in several different types of industry: oil and gas, chemical and refining, substation and battery storage, and various commercial projects. Our #1 priority is the safety of our employees and those that work with our team. This is why every team member of Helicor has full Stop Work Authority.
Responsibilities
- Conduct inspections and assessments to ensure compliance with environmental health regulations and standards.
- Develop, implement, and maintain policies related to occupational health and safety.
- Perform root cause analysis for incidents and recommend corrective actions.
- Provide training on health and safety practices, including first aid, CPR, and OSHA regulations.
- Prepare detailed reports on findings from inspections and investigations.
- Collaborate with various departments to promote awareness of environmental health issues.
- Stay updated on changes in workers compensation law and other relevant legislation.
- Fabricate solutions to improve workplace safety and health conditions.
- Monitor and update Safety platforms (ISN, Veriforce, etc)
- Implementation of a safety training program.
- HSA/JSA development and implementation.
- Record hours worked and update OSHA 300 logs.
- Working closely with our insurance providers, and ensuring COI's are up to date.
- Visiting site locations for safety spot checks and leading safety tailgate meetings.
- Develop a PPE supply for our operational team.
- Provide initial safety training for all new operations team members.
- Review and maintain compliance with DOT.
- Maintain and update Drug testing policy as needed.
- Interacting with customer for pre-job and any post-accident investigations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health, Occupational Safety, or a related field is preferred.
- Knowledge of EHS (Environmental Health & Safety) principles and practices.
- Strong report writing skills with the ability to communicate findings clearly.
- Certification in First Aid and CPR is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations and workers compensation law is a plus.
- Experience in training development for health and safety topics is advantageous.
- Ability to conduct thorough investigations and analyses related to occupational health issues.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of safety.
