Duties
- Assist experienced mechanics in performing maintenance and repairs on vehicles, engines, or industrial equipment
- Prepare work areas by gathering tools, parts, and supplies needed for repairs or inspections
- Support with diagnosing issues using basic testing tools
- Help lift, move, or hold heavy parts and equipment to facilitate repairs safely and efficiently
- Follow safety protocols diligently during all tasks to ensure a secure work environment
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas and tools to promote safety and organization
- Document completed tasks and report any issues or discrepancies to the supervising mechanic
Qualifications
- Basic understanding of mechanical systems and tools; previous experience is a plus but not required
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and work under supervision effectively
- Familiarity with electrical testing devices such as an ohmmeter is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential
- Strong physical stamina with the ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods
- Excellent teamwork skills with a proactive attitude toward learning and safety compliance
