Helena Valley Addiction Services is continuing to grow and are looking to add an LAC/ACLC. The right person for this job will be client centered, have good communication skills, willing to learn/grow, participate in discussions regarding client care and above all else be willing to be part of the team. We have the very best people working here and they are all willing to help support you in working with people struggling with addiction issues. You will meet for training one time a week, clinical supervisor one time a week and in case review once a week at a minimum. We are a STAR (student loan repayment program) site and if you meet their criteria you would qualify for up to 250k in student loan repayment.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Addiction Counselor to join our team. As an Addiction Counselor, you will provide counseling and support to individuals struggling with substance abuse and addiction. Your role will involve conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and facilitating individual and group therapy sessions. The ideal candidate will have experience in crisis intervention, social work, and behavioral health.
Duties:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' substance abuse history and mental health status
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on clients' needs and goals
- Provide counseling and support to clients through individual and group therapy sessions
- Monitor clients' progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic care for clients
- Educate clients on coping mechanisms, relapse prevention strategies, and healthy lifestyle choices
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records and documentation
- Stay informed about current research, trends, and best practices in addiction counseling
Experience:
- Previous experience working in a hospital or behavioral health setting is preferred
- Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques and trauma-informed care
- Familiarity with applied behavior analysis principles is a plus
- Proficiency in coding and data collection for research purposes is desirable
- Strong understanding of medical terminology related to addiction and mental health
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field
- Valid state licensure or certification as an Addiction Counselor (LADC, CAC, etc.)
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Empathy, compassion, and the ability to establish rapport with clients
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
