What are the responsibilities and job description for the General Secretary- Counseling position at Helena Public Schools?
- Respond to routine telephone inquiries regarding general high school policies and procedures.
- Prepare materials for printing and distribution to students, parents and/or guardians, staff, and the school community.
- Maintain accurate files and records.
- Facilitate student registration and transcripts.
- Oversee district elementary records.
- Oversee and develop social media accounts associated with Capital High School.
- Other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- One year of experience and/or one year of secretarial training; or an equivalent combination of experience and training as determined by the District.
- This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement between Helena School District and the Montana Federation of Public Employees.
- This recruitment may also be used to fill additional positions per business needs.
- Prior to employment, you must successfully complete the appropriate background check required for employment.

Counseling Secretary
The Counseling secretary oversees student records and transcripts found in PowerSchool. Helps schedule students with Counselors, oversee the career center area, help monitor the Bruin Food Pantry, assist counselors with their requests, and create the monthly parent newsletter.
