Responsibilities
- Assist in implementing age-appropriate activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development for infants and toddlers.
- Support classroom management by maintaining a clean, organized, and safe environment that encourages exploration and learning.
- Supervise children closely during play, meals, naps, and transitions to ensure their safety at all times.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's daily experiences, milestones, and any concerns.
- Follow all mandated reporting laws to ensure the safety and well-being of children in your care.
- Support teachers in adhering to health and safety protocols, including first aid procedures such as pediatric first aid and CPR when necessary.
- Collaborate with team members to plan engaging activities that cater to individual developmental needs, including children with disabilities or special needs.
- Maintain accurate documentation related to child development progress and classroom routines.
Skills
- Proven experience working with infants and toddlers in daycare or preschool settings.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices.
- Ability to provide nurturing infant/toddler care with patience and compassion.
- Strong classroom management skills to foster positive behavior and engagement.
- Excellent communication skills for parent interactions and team collaboration.
- Certification in first aid, CPR, including pediatric first aid preferred or willing to obtain upon hire.
- Familiarity with special education strategies for children with disabilities or developmental delays is a plus.
- Experience working within daycare center environments or as a nanny or babysitter is highly valued.
