What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient Registration Clerk position at Helen Hayes Hospital?
This individual ensures that appointments are scheduled and insurance information has been verified and entered into the Medi tech System accurately. This individual coordinates the clerical aspect of the patient's treatment. This individual will need problem solving skills and be able to apply them in a professional manner interacting with patients and staff members and other duties as assigned.
Hours TBD, may have to work some evenings (Until 7:30 PM)
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications: one year of full time clerical, secretarial, or patient care
experience in a health care setting.
Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in a high volume fast paced environment. Can problem solve, can communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, previous experience in computerized scheduling, registering and entering insurance information for patients in a medical environment Working knowledge of third party billing requirements, organized, adaptable, working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Meditech a plus.
