What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dietitian position at Helen Hayes Hospital?
Provide professional dietetic services which may
include consulting with physicians on special diet programs, planning and
supervising the preparation of special diet menus assessing patients’
nutritional status, developing care plans to address patients’ level of nutritional
risk. Providing education and follow up
with patients, families and other staff to ensure nutritional goals are met.
Requirements
Current registration
with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) as a Registered Dietitian
(RD)
OR
New York State Education Department (NYSED)
certification in dietetics-nutrition AND a minimum of an additional 400 hours
of supervised dietetics practice under the supervision of an RD. The additional
400 hours required is in addition to the 800 hours of supervised dietetics practice
under the supervision of an RD required for NYSED certification.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/COMPETENCIES:
One year of post-graduate
experience as a Dietitian in an acute care or rehabilitation setting.
