This role will establish trusted, governed analytics by building canonical data models, semantic layers, and enterprise Power BI standards that support self-service BI while ensuring data accuracy—especially for regulated domains such as credit risk.

We are seeking a Data & Business Intelligence Architect to design and scale enterprise data and Power BI architecture as the organization modernizes its data platform and moves to Azure and Microsoft Fabric. This role will establish trusted, governed analytics by building canonical data models, semantic layers, and enterprise Power BI standards that support self-service BI while ensuring data accuracy—especially for regulated domains such as credit risk.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and govern enterprise Power BI environments, including workspaces, datasets, and semantic models
- Design and enforce canonical data models and semantic layers to ensure consistent, certified reporting
- Partner with data governance leadership to support data quality, certification, and usage standards
- Support the evolution of the data warehouse and data marts as the platform transitions from SQL Server to Azure
- Help establish and mature the BI Center of Excellence, defining standards, best practices, and reusable patterns
- Guide teams away from ad-hoc data usage toward approved enterprise views and datasets
- Strong experience architecting Power BI at enterprise scale
- Proven background in data modeling (dimensional, canonical, semantic layer design)
- Experience working within the Microsoft data stack (SQL Server, Power BI; Azure concepts strongly preferred)
- Ability to balance self-service BI with governance and data quality controls
- Excellent communication skills and ability to operate as a hands-on architect in a lean team
- Azure, Microsoft Fabric, or cloud data platform experience
- Financial services or banking analytics experience (credit risk a plus)
- Experience with data virtualization or governance tooling (e.g., Denodo)
