Job Title: Senior Business Data Analyst

Job Summary:

Heitmeyer Consulting is currently seeking an experienced Senior Business Data Analyst for a contract-to-hire opportunity with one of our financial services clients. Thise individual serves as a critical liaison between business stakeholders and technology teams, ensuring that data-driven initiatives are clearly defined, understood, and successfully delivered. This role operates in a highly data-intensive environment and is responsible for translating business needs into actionable requirements while advocating for the strategic value of data across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the primary point of contact between business units and technology teams to support data-related initiatives.
• Partner closely with a Product Owner within an agile environment to define, refine, and prioritize work.
• Gather, analyze, and document business requirements, ensuring they are clear, complete, and consumable by technical teams for development.
• Translate complex data concepts into understandable insights for non-technical stakeholders, emphasizing the importance and value of data as a business asset.
• Advocate for data quality, governance, and proper usage across business functions.
• Develop a deep understanding of data flows, including how data moves from source systems through transformation processes to end-user reporting.
• Support the design and validation of reporting solutions to ensure alignment with business needs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery of data products and solutions.
  
  
  

Basic Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Business Data Analyst or similar role in a data-heavy environment.
• Experience working within the banking or financial services industry, with strong familiarity in handling and interpreting financial data.
• Strong understanding of end-to-end data lifecycle, including data sourcing, transformation, and reporting.
• Demonstrated ability to write clear, concise business requirements and functional documentation for technical audiences.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis, modeling, and reporting.
• Experience working in agile methodologies and collaborating with Product Owners and development teams.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex data concepts to business stakeholders.
