The Ohio Traffic Safety Office (OTSO) is offering a $1,500 incentive for new Class D driving instructors who complete the licensing process and actively train students.
How It Works
If you receive your original Class D driving instructor license between September 26, 2025 and June 20, 2026, hold it for at least 3 months, and actively teach students during that time, you’ll qualify for a $1,500 payment from OTSO.
Once your eligibility is confirmed, you’ll receive your payment in about 30 days.
Who Can Qualify
To be eligible, you must:
Have a Class D instructor approval date between Sept. 26, 2025 – June 20, 2026
Hold your instructor license for at least 3 months.
Actively train students during that time.
Complete the incentive request form on the OTSO website
