What are the responsibilities and job description for the Adjunct Instructor of Horn position at Heidelberg University?
Heidelberg University is seeking an Adjunct Instructor of Horn to join our School of Music and Theater in providing instruction to undergraduate students in any of the following curricula: Bachelor of Arts in Music, or Bachelor of Music in Music Education. The Adjunct Instructor of Horn will report to the Chair of the School of Music and Theater.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Adjunct Instructor of Horn will:
- Teach courses in Studio Horn, including both major and non-major lessons.
- Utilize innovative and collaborative teaching methods in support of the School's mission and learning objectives.
- Participate in School of Music and Theater recruiting events and audition days upon request.
- Participate in instrumental jury assessment at the conclusion of each semester of instruction.
Desired Attributes and Qualifications
Education and Professional Experience:
- Bachelor of Music in Music Education with a horn emphasis or Bachelor of Music in Horn Performance
- 2 years experience teaching private lessons
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Master of Music in Horn Performance
