Hegira Health, Inc. (HHI), a private non-profit corporation, is one of the largest freestanding behavioral healthcare agencies in the area. HHI, accredited by the Joint Commission and licensed by the State of Michigan, provides a broad array of mental health and substance abuse treatment and prevention services to individuals of all ages.
Our ideal candidate has at least one year experience working a front desk. The candidate should have some face to face contact with patient/clients. Ability to multi-task within a busy work environment.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
The Engagement Specialist shall possess, at a minimum,
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Basic reception skills, minimum typing skills of 45 words per minute, and general organizational abilities.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
- Capable of conducting web-based searches and utilizing web-based documents.
The Engagement Specialist shall promote an atmosphere that is conducive to a professional, clinical business operation.
LOCATION(s): Lincoln Park, MI
Shift (s): Full-time; Monday-Friday 8:30am-5 pm
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical:
General Office
- Answer telephone calls utilizing HHI scripted greeting.
- Completes accurate notations of phone messages received on provided telephone call recording documents.
- Greets patients and visitors with an attitude that is welcoming.
- Verify current insurance at time of patient check in.
- Update patient demographics at time of patient check in.
- Notify practitioners of patient arrival for appointments.
- Complete typing assignments within prescribed timeframes provided by the Office Manager/Senior Clerical, or Clinical Management staff.
- Schedule patient appointments as instructed by the Office Manager/Senior Clerical.
- Complete pre-appointment telephone reminder contacts as directed and record the result of each per clinic policy.
- Other office related tasks as directed.
Pre-Intake
- Prepare pre-intake packet and folder.
- Ensure sufficient number of pre-intake packets is available to meet clinic volume needs.
- Complete pre-intake paperwork per the clinic’s policy and procedure.
- Schedule initial intake appointment based on the candidate's expressed need, clinician specialty area(s), and appointment availability.
- Notify Office Manager/Senior Clerical if unable to schedule intake appointments within clinic policy and procedure.
- Monitor/file pre-intake folders and distribute appropriately on patient’s day of admission.
- Enter intake appointment time and date into shared file/schedule.
- Update Intake Log with changed intake appointments, appointments kept and/or canceled.
Pay: $16.20 - $18.20 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
