Position: Maintenance Mechanic

Pay Rate: $30.00 / hourly

Location: Modesto, CA

Schedule: Monday – Friday | 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM (Some Saturdays required)

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to support operations by maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a variety of industrial machinery and mechanical equipment. This includes engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production equipment.

The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to diagnose issues efficiently, and experience working with both mechanical and basic electrical systems in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Observe mechanical devices in operation and analyze sounds and performance to identify issues.
• Disassemble machinery to access and remove defective or worn components.
• Inspect parts for damage, wear, and dimensional accuracy.
• Adjust and calibrate functional components and control instruments.
• Repair or replace defective parts to restore equipment functionality.
• Install specialized mechanical and structural components as needed.
• Lubricate, clean, and maintain equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Start and test equipment to verify repairs and operational efficiency.
• Set up and operate metalworking tools such as lathes, drill presses, and grinders.
• Initiate purchase orders for parts and equipment as needed.
• Perform basic electrical repairs and maintenance.
• Follow all safety procedures and maintenance protocols.

Qualifications

• Certificate from a technical school or college, or
• 3–6 months of related experience and/or training, or
• Equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience.

Skills & Abilities

• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations including percentages, proportions, and measurements.
• Understanding of basic algebra and geometry concepts.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents, including safety rules, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports and communicate with team members or leadership.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
