What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bartender position at HED NYC - EWC Hospitality Group?
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a skilled, passionate Bartender to join our team. Beyond crafting excellent drinks, you'll be an ambassador for hed NYC's culinary vision — able to speak knowledgeably about our food, guide guests at the bar through our menu, and deliver dishes with care and confidence when needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Craft and execute cocktails, spirits service, and non-alcoholic beverages with precision and consistency
- Deliver an exceptional, personalized experience for all bar guests
- Run food to bar guests and present dishes with enthusiasm and context
- Guide guests through the menu with genuine knowledge of ingredients, preparations, and flavor profiles — including our Thai-inspired dishes
- Collaborate closely with FOH and kitchen teams to ensure seamless service
- Maintain bar cleanliness, organization, and mise en place throughout service
- Assist with bar inventory, restocking, and opening/closing duties
- Uphold hed NYC's standards for hospitality, presentation, and professionalism at all times
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 3 years of bartending experience; fine dining or upscale bar experience is a strong plus
- Genuine passion for food — ability and enthusiasm to learn, describe, and recommend dishes to guests
- Solid knowledge of spirits, cocktails, and wine; beverage certifications (WSET, CMS) are a bonus
- Strong communication skills and natural warmth with guests
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Team-oriented, reliable, and committed to consistent excellence
- Food handler's certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start)
- Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays
