As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for shipping, receiving, kitting of parts for upcoming work orders, verification and stocking of materials, accurate counts, pulling of parts for other departments, performing inventory cycle counts, and miscellaneous tasks of the material handling department.
HOURS: Flexible can choose M-F 7:30am - 4pm, or M 4 hours, T-F 6:30am - 4:00pm, or T-F 6:00am - 4:30pm. 40 hours, OT as required. Core days T - F until 4pm.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Contributes to and fosters a ‘safety first’ working environment by adhering to safety protocols and driving continuous improvement around safety and ergonomics.
- Unpacks and verifies all incoming material to HED by matching physical counts and part numbers to packing lists and purchase orders.
- Maintains and ensures accurate inventory and cost transactions in the business system.
- Pulls inspection folders, fills out necessary information, and follows inspection procedures.
- Issues any related back orders for incoming material.
- Pulls and assembles parts required for production work orders and for other departments; making sure that correct parts and quantities are kitted.
- Performs weekly cycle counting to ensure the correct quantities are in the correct bin locations.
- Fills out backorder form if necessary and processes accordingly.
- Notifies Buyers if shipping or production supplies are at quantity reorder points.
- Uses the business system to enter shipping information for orders and to process a variety of materials transactions while ensuring on-time shipping.
- Enters shipping information into the UPS system, prints shipping documentation, and attaches to packages.
- Completes necessary shipment forms if an alternative method is indicated (i.e. Fedex, DHL, Truck, etc.).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
· High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
Experience and/or Training:
- With details, deadlines, and high-level of concentration. Twelve months or more of related experience or training. Experience with UPS online system and other shipping documents.
Abilities:
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work together with others through teamwork.
- Proficiency with MS Office (outlook, word, and excel).
- Computer entry skills into ERP system (preferably Syspro experience)
- Ability to speak and read the English language.
- Ability to operate pallet lift, forklift, and climb stairs.
- High manual dexterity, ability to handle small components or parts.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and documents.
- Ability to discern and differentiate colors on color-coded parts and reference materials.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, assembly procedures and dimensional specifications, read and comprehend simple to complex instructions, short correspondence, and memos, write simple correspondence, fill out forms, and standard reports.
- Ability to write simple correspondence and to fill out forms and standard reports.
- Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in oral, written, and diagram or mechanical drawing form.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, and/or use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl. The employee is frequently required to perform repetitious tasks.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
