Title: Google Cloud Platform Data Engineer
Location: San Jose, CA
Job Description:
The client is migrating its Identity and Customer Data Store Services from on-prem infrastructure to Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform). This is a major rewrite involving distributed systems that manage critical customer identity operations.
Responsibilities:
- Build scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for large-scale data migration
- Develop real-time streaming solutions using Kafka or Pub/Sub
- Work with Google Cloud Platform services: Cloud Dataflow, Big Query, Big Table, Cloud Storage
- Ensure data validation, quality assurance, and performance benchmarking
- Collaborate with client Identity Engineering team in Agile/SCRUM ceremonies
- Support monitoring, alerting, and documentation efforts
Must-Have Skills:
- Large-scale data migration experience
- Google Cloud Platform: Cloud Dataflow, BigQuery, BigTable, Cloud Storage
- Kafka or Google Pub/Sub
- ETL/ELT pipeline development
- Data validation and QA
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in fintech or identity management domains
- Familiarity with client tech stack
- CI/CD and DevOps exposure
