We are looking for a motivated and experienced Electric Motor Winder to join our team in Lexington, Kentucky. This role involves the disassembly, rewinding, reassembly, and testing of various electric motor components with precision and attention to detail.
Responsibilities And Expectations
- Record precise measurements prior to disassembly
- Remove coils and insulation using hand tools
- Rewind a variety of electric motors and generators, including:
- Random wound and form wound three-phase AC motors
- DC fields
- Armatures
- Wound rotors
- Apply proper insulating techniques and ensure compliance with specifications
- Perform electrical testing throughout the rewinding process
- Process varnish and operate VPI (Vacuum Pressure Impregnation) systems
- Clean varnish or VPI residue from motor frames after processing
- Load and unload components in burn-off and bake-out ovens
- Assist with various other motor and generator repair tasks as needed
- Minimum of 2 years of electric motor winding experience
- Strong understanding of motor types, winding techniques, and insulation practices
- Ability to perform electrical tests accurately
- Detail-oriented with a focus on quality
