The Summer Laborer (May/June through August/September) supports safe and efficient site operations by performing general labor duties, inspections, light mechanical work, and site maintenance. This role contributes to maintaining a safe, organized, and compliant work environment while gaining exposure to mining operations and equipment.
This is a temporary summer position (3 months) is based out of Winnemucca, NV with site based work performed across the Nevada sites. The schedule is Monday - Thursday, 4 -10-hour shifts with occasional overtime as required. Some travel may be required.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform all work safely and in compliance with company policies, MSHA regulations, and environmental standards
- Conduct pre-shift and workplace inspections; identify, report, and help mitigate safety and environmental hazards
- Perform general labor duties including shoveling, material handling, and site clean-up
- Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked work areas
- Operate and assist in maintaining support equipment such as light vehicles, skid steers, and forklifts
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all safety protocols
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members, including reporting unsafe conditions
- Demonstrate strong attendance, reliability, and accountability
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age at hire date and authorized to work in the United States.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
- Must be a 2026 high school graduate or a college/vocational student enrolled in the 2026 fall semester.
- General understanding of mining, maintenance, or mechanical systems preferred.
- Experience operating equipment such as forklifts, loaders, or similar equipment preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic work environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer skills (Outlook, Word) preferred.
- Ability to meet physical demands and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Must pass physical exam, drug screening and background check.
