What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Attorney position at Hecker Fink LLP?

Hecker Fink LLP is seeking Staff Attorneys to work closely with our attorneys and case managers. The ideal candidates will have strong communication skills, both written and verbal, strong analytical skills, prior experience with complex document review, and familiarity with Relativity database and search tools. This position will be for a term of 6 months to a year with the potential to become permanent depending on your performance and the needs of the firm.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and conduct comprehensive review of documents and assist with the organization and quality control of document review projects.
  • Identify and analyze legal issues, facts, and evidence on case-specific issues under the direction of senior attorneys. Draft memoranda and summaries of findings.
  • Assist associates and case teams with targeted searches in large document databases.
  • Identify privileged and confidential materials and prepare detailed and accurate privilege logs.
  • Undertake other litigation-support work such as: assisting with preparation of exhibits, organizing case files, and collaborating with litigation support staff on production workflows.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications: Admission to the California, New York, or DC Bar. Two or more years of experience in document review required; quality control / second level review and privilege log experience preferred.


Compensation: The expected base salary for this role ranges from $125,000 - $140,000 and is dependent on experience.
